Lincoln Cathedral Wedding Portraits in Lincolnshire - Dan & Jess

Updated: Jun 1, 2022

Bride and groom standing side by side outside Lincoln Cathedral for wedding portraits

Dan and Jess were one of those many affected by various lockdowns and after postponing their wedding in May of 2020 and with rules still up in the air in 2021, they decided to go ahead and get officially married on 1st April 2021 (no it was not a joke, yes I did have to check...) with just their parents in attendance.

Unfortunately due to the circumstances I couldn't be present for their wedding ceremony but they chose to get married at Lincoln Registry Office and then we later met up at Lincoln Cathedral to take some couple portraits and family group shots to commemorate their special day.

It was an incredibly cold April (can you tell?) but they were all excellent sports as I made them wander around uphill Lincoln for an hour or two. The Cathedral Quarter of Lincoln is one of my favourite locations for couple shoots, it offers so many incredible backdrops including (the very aptly named) Steep Hill, the new Dean's Gardens and the Cathedral of course!

If you've never been to Lincoln, here is a great article to get you started. With continuing works all over the city it truly is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to (which is maybe why I chose to live here!).

Dan and Jess then went home, got changed into their comfy clothes and had a relaxed day with their family. It wasn't what they had originally planned but they absolutely made the most of it and hey, this way they get two wedding days! (and two outfits too!) You can see their second wedding day they got to have with all their friends in the following June, here.

Have a gander at some of my favourites below...

P.s. Bouquet and buttonhole were made by the insanely talented bride!
