North Norfolk Coast Pre Wedding Shoot - Alex & Esmee

Man and woman sliding down sand bank at North Norfolk coast pre wedding shoot

This was probably one of my all time favourite shoots I've ever done. And yes, I realise I may say that about a bunch of my shoots but I ALWAYS mean it. But particularly this one. The location, the golden hour, the couple, it was all incredible.

I met this wonderful pair on a zoom call after they were struggling to find a photographer for their 3 month engagement. You read that right, they pulled off wedding planning in three months. I have since shot their wedding (blog post coming soon!) and I can confirm that their speedy planning translated to a truly beautiful day at Springhill Barn in Worcestershire.

For their pre wedding shoot, Esmee's only request was that it was by the sea so we all travelled over to the North Norfolk Coast to the beautiful Snettisham Beach. After getting a little lost and chasing after Alex & Esmee's car like a crazy woman we managed to park up a little walk from the beach along the side of "Beach Road". There is a pay and display carpark available but be careful as it closes at 9pm and you may get trapped overnight!

Snettisham Beach itself is stunning, with amazing sand dunes to race down and long grasses to get lost in. These two were an absolute dream to photograph, so comfortable in each others presence and just up to have a whole lot of fun, including running out into the, well, mud. The water was a little too far out that evening! I thought it would be an excellent idea for me to take my shoes off too (despite not needing to) so we then all spend a very enjoyable 20 minutes attempting to clean our feet. Pretty unsuccessfully... I also like to spend a little time during a pre wedding shoot to talk about your upcoming wedding and I've got to say, doing this whilst watching the sunset on the beach is one of my favourite ways ever.

After a quick turnaround (I just couldn't help myself whilst editing these!) Alex & Esmee left me a truly lovely voice note to tell me how much they loved their photos and here's just a snippet of it written down:

"We've just gone through them and we can't believe how good they are! We love them! So many amazing photos and you've done such a good job at editing the colours and the compositions are just fantastic. We were saying that we don't know how you've managed to get all these photos so quickly because, for example, when I was putting the little flower in Esmee's hair, but then you're just all over the place getting different angles. You've just done such a good job. SO happy. We feel like it so captures us and our relationship but then also the beautiful colours of the golden hour. They're just so nice, so wonderful, stunning. We had just a great fun day as well. It was so enjoyable and we felt relaxed and it was really fun and it was lovely to meet you as well and we look forward to seeing you on our wedding day! 6 weeks today!"

Petition for all future couples to leave me a voice note review please and thank you!
